Happy Socks x Giles Deacon for the Elton John AIDS Foundation

Giles Deacon and Happy Socks will release a limited edition ’weeks worth of socks’ for each 7 days of the week, to be available in early December.

The seven socks will be presented in a collectable and numbered box; only 1,000 limited edition boxes will be produced.

A minimum of 25% of the retail price will directly benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Designed by Giles to reflect his sense of humour and penchant for colourful design this will be a must have for the fashion focused sock obsessive.

Retail price will be €70, only available through Happy Socks website and selected points of sales – to be released closer to the time of store entry.

The Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF) is an international non-profit organization funding programs that help to alleviate the physical, emotional and financial hardship of those living with, affected by or at risk of HIV/AIDS. Sir Elton John established EJAF in the UK in 1993 with a sister organization established in the USA in 1992 to fund programs in North America.

EJAF was formed primarily to look after the needs of people with HIV/AIDS living in the UK. During the past seventeen years, the organization has extended the scope of its work and now funds in 15 countries over 4 continents.

To date it has raised over £82 million which has been used to support more than 1,200 projects reaching millions of people infected, affected or at risk of HIV/AIDS.

Giles Deacon worked with Jean Charles De Castelbajac in Paris for 2 years, after graduating from London’s Saint Martins in 1992, From 1998 until 2002 he designed at Bottega Veneta and the Gucci Group. In February 2004 Giles presented his first collection.

In addition to expanding the ready-to-wear collection with a pre-collection, an important commercial development for the label, Deacon introduced accessories in a two season collaboration with Mulberry called Mulberry for Giles, which was a commercial and critical success. He also added an on going consultancy with New Look to design New Look Gold for the high street retailer. May 2010 Giles became Creative Design Director at Emanuel Ungaro in Paris
